Swizz Beatz Speaks With MTV, Says There's No Beef Between Himself and G-Unit

Swizz Beatz recently sat down with MTV, and explained how he was able to hook up with 50 Cent for "Curtis," and why Tony Yayo's apology for the "Touch It" (Remix) incident was enough to end the drama between both camps.

In a recent interview with MTV, Swizz Beatz spoke on several topics, but what was interesting was his ability to work with 50 Cent for the upcoming album "Curtis."  As many of you know, there has been a steady tension between the Swizzy camp and G-unit for quite some time; first stemming from the 2006 "Touch It Remix" video shoot where Tony Yayo had some harsh words for Swizz Beatz, and then Cassidy's "B-Boy Stance" video shoot where Cass had a fake 50 Cent doing the "B-Boy" dance in the video.  Recently both Cassidy and 50 have exchanged words, however during the MTV interview, Swizz explained how he was able to look past the drama and hook up with 50 Cent in the studio, and how seeing Tony Yayo for the first time since the "Touch It" incident was initially an unsettling experience.

"First, it was a little tension.  It was the first time I seen Yayo.  I didn't know what to expect.  I went in there with two people with me...... But it ended up being a positive vibe.  The first beat I put on, immediately it was a smasher. We wound up doing, like, five joints."

With regards to working with 50, Swizz went on to say:  "Shouting my name in the song in the verse, it feels genuine.  I really think 50 is a cool ni**a.  Everybody's got their problems, I even had my problems.  But as men, men handle their problems and move on.  People don't know how to handle their problems, so they have senseless beef.  Or even beef that's not senseless, but they don't know how to handle it."

Swizz also explained how at first he was unsure about seeing Tony Yayo in the studio, however after Tony approached him with an apology for the "Touch It" incident, he knew there wouldn't be any drama:  "Within five minutes of me walking in the door, Yayo came up and apologized and it felt genuine.  It's like in the Koran, asking for forgiveness.....He apologizes and it feels honest, let it fly.  If you not gonna let it fly, we might as well get it poppin' right now."

With all of the recent controversy surrounding Cassidy and 50 Cent, Swizz also explained how he spoke to 50 Cent about the situation:  "I'm a fu**in' G.  I told 50 what Cassidy said.  50 was like, 'Yo, he's being competitive.  It ain't no problem.'  I let Cassidy know the conversation we had —you ain't gonna hear Cassidy saying nothing about 50 no more.  Just like you ain't never gonna hearYayo probably ever say nothing about me.  It is what it is. I  stepped to 50 by myself the first time I seen him like, 'Is it a problem?'  It was no problem; he played me his whole album."

Swizz Beatz latest album, "One Man, One Band," is slated to hit stores on August 21, 2007.
