Following in the footsteps of Viacom, Sony, and Disney, Warner Brothers Entertainment in India is the latest Hollywood production company that has joined the festivities of Bollywood film production as the company announced its plan for its first ever Hindi production, entitled "Made In China."
Sridhar Raghavan has written the film's script, and has been responsible for writing for such films as "Khakee" and "Bluffmaster." The film will star Akshay Kumar and model/actress Deepika Padukone, will be directed by Nikhil Advani, and will focus on an Indian cook who is mistaken for a martial arts hero in China. Akshay Kumar would seem the logical choice for such a role, as the Bollywood star is an expert martial artist and has been a lead action fighter in several films.
What is most interesting about the film is that the entire shooting of "Made In China" will in fact be shot entirely in China. Blaise Fernandes, manager of Warner Brothers Entertainment in India recently spoke with Variety.com, and stated: "We will do everything in our power to make a well-crafted, popular and successful Indian film."
Shooting for "Made In China" has been slated to begin in January 2008.
