Fabrizio Romano: Leeds Agree Deal to Sign 'Best Goalkeeper in the World'
Leeds United have agreed a deal with Lyon to sign Lucas Perri, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Peacocks have had a busy summer transfer window already with Daniel Farke bolstering his squad with the additions of Lukas Nmecha, Jaka Bijol, Sebastian Bornauw, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Sean Longstaff and Anton Stach.
But goalkeeper has always been a priority position that the club want to strengthen, and they have now agreed a deal for their top target as they prepare to return to the Premier League.
Leeds 'Agree Deal' to Sign Perri
He's flying to the UK for a medical
Perri, who has been described as 'the world's best goalkeeper' by Lyon manager Paulo Fonseca, had been identified by the 49ers as a potential target earlier in the summer as the club searched for a replacement for Illan Meslier in goal.
Now the 27-year-old Brazilian is set to jet to the UK after leaving Lyon's pre-season training camp in Germany so he can undergo a medical at Thorp Arch ahead of putting pen to paper on a contract with Leeds.
Leeds and Lyon have a total agreement for the star's transfer and formal steps are set to follow to complete the deal, with a medical booked and personal terms also agreed.
Leeds are also expected to move to sign a new striker this summer with Farke already admitting that he has told Patrick Bamford he is not part of his plans, while Mateo Joseph has asked for a transfer away to move back to Spain.
Talks are ongoing over a deal for Christantus Uche, while they are also still hopeful of a deal to sign Fulham star Rodrigo Muniz, who is open to a move.
