Manchester United offered chance to sign Chelsea outcast in a swap deal for Alejandro Garnacho- Fabrizio Romano

Chelsea offer Nicolas Jackson as part of swap deal for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho

Manchester United have surprised many by making some excellent signings in this transfer window. In Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, they have upgraded the forward department after last season’s struggles in front of goal.

However, alongside these arrivals, Ruben Amorim is looking to offload players who don’t fit into his plans going forward. Marcus Rashford has left the club to join Barcelona on a season-long loan, with the La Liga club having an option to buy. Alejandro Garnacho is also another attacker who has been told to leave the club this summer.

The Argentina international is looking for a way out of Old Trafford and has made it clear to the club that he wants to join Chelsea. In fact, the winger has already agreed personal terms with the Blues, having set his sights on moving to west London for several months now. The transfer fee is yet to be negotiated between the two clubs as things stand.

Chelsea offer Nicolas Jackson in a swap deal for Alejandro Garnacho

According to transfer news guru Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Nicolas Jackson in a potential swap deal for Alejandro Garnacho.

The Red Devils have discussed a potential move for the out-of-favour Chelsea striker but are unlikely to accept the Blues’ proposal of a swap deal, as they are seeking a cash-only deal with the aim of reinvesting into new signings.

Nicolas Jackson is out of Enzo Maresca’s project at Stamford Bridge, despite scoring 10 goals and supplying five assists in 30 Premier League games last season. A lack of consistency and ill-discipline, coupled with the summer acquisitions of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, have made the Senegal international surplus to Maresca’s requirements. As a result, the 24-year-old has been told he will be allowed to leave the Blues this summer, with Newcastle United his preferred destination.

As for Garnacho, he has agreed personal terms with Chelsea until 2032 and sees Stamford Bridge as the perfect opportunity to rejuvenate his career after falling out with Ruben Amorim at the end of last season. The speedy winger’s priority is stay in the Premier League which has seen him reject interest from various European clubs, including Napoli and Bayer Leverkusen.

INEOS value the South American at around £50million, which is £20million less than what Chelsea are hoping to pay and seal a deal. Even if Garnacho is no more part of Amorim’s plans, we have every right to stick to the valuation as the player is only 21 and has potential to become one of the top wingers in Europe. His sale would represent pure profit in our books and provide us with funds to reinvest in a midfielder, preferably Brighton’s Carlos Baleba.
