Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr gets bad injury news on Tuesday

The wait is over for Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr, and the Saudi club returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 24, for an AFC Champions League Two match.

The current leader of the Saudi Pro League has not played an official match in a month, since Nov. 26, when they defeated Istiklol 4-0 in the Champions League Two without their biggest star, Ronaldo.

It was not until Dec. 10 that they played again in a friendly match against Al Wahda, which they won 4-2.

Now, Al Nassr is already preparing to compete again in both the Champions League and the league, with the clear goal of maintaining the lead in the domestic tournament and continuing its good course in the continental competition.

Al Nassr Coach Jorge Jesus Confirms Mohamed Simakan’s Injury

On the eve of the match, head coach Jorge Jesus confirmed in a press conference the injury absence of Mohamed Simakan. The French central defender is dealing with muscular problems.

"We have been away from the match rhythm, but we have trained seriously," Jesus said. "Tomorrow’s match (Al Nassr vs. Al Zawraa) is an opportunity to return to our winning momentum."

"Simakan suffered from muscle fatigue, followed by a cold, which then affected his muscular condition and led to an injury," he added.

This is particularly bad news for Cristiano Ronaldo's team, since the other starting central defender, Inigo Martinez, is also injured and will not be available for the Wednesday Champions League Two match.

According to reports from Saudi Arabia, Martinez's injury is not serious and is not a cause for concern for Al Nassr. Regarding this, coach Jesus said, "The injuries to Martinez and Simakan do not worry me, as we have players who are capable of stepping up and delivering."

"We are top of the league and top in Asia, and our team is developing, but we still need to improve further. The winter transfer window will open soon, and we will see what happens during it," he added.
