Lisandro Martinez offers damning Man Utd verdict after dropping points to Wolves

Lisandro Martinez was left fuming after Manchester United were held by Wolves at Old Trafford and told his beleaguered team-mates that they "have to win when they play at home".

The visitors were winless in their 18 games and had lost all but two of those, leaving them doomed at the bottom of the table. But they were able to take their points tally from two to three by earning a share of the spoils in Manchester, despite going behind in the first-half.

Joshua Zirkzee had put the Red Devils in front but Ladislav Krejci silenced the home crowd when he scored to earn Wolves' first point since October. Come full-time the Manchester outfit were booed off after an abject performance.

It halts any momentum the team were gaining and whilst Martinez believes Wolves' position at the bottom is not a fair reflection of their quality, he insists United cannot be letting such games pass them by on their own patch.

He said: "Really disappointed. We can't come here at home and draw this game. We have to win when we play at home. The opponent has to suffer and we didn't get the three points.

"Very frustrating. The team gave everything. Just for a few moments, we conceded in the last moment of the first half, that can happen. We can deserve that, it's our responsibility. We played well with the ball in the first half but then we dropped too much, couldn't press their centre backs. They were comfortable with the ball and they started moving round and creating spaces.

"Wolves don't deserve the place they are, it's a strong team. We respect them. We have to take more risks. The lads are very disappointed, we expect better. We have to take it and accept it and go for the next one."

Had Ruben Amorim's side won then they would've leaped into the top four ahead of Liverpool, at least momentarily, but instead they remain in sixth. Gary Neville was critical of the team's set-up from minute one and claimed it was on the head coach to take responsibility.

"This isn't right again," he said on Sky Sports. "So I think I've watched enough United over this last five or six weeks. I've watched six out of their last seven games to know what looks right and what isn't right and I'm really surprised."
